They saved a kitten with a mangled leg and got him emergency veterinary care, and he is now a beloved part of our family.
Today my Husky pulled away from me while on walk. Called Warren animal control; dispatch immediately began to help. Officers of both Animal control and Warren PD found my Husky and were beyond professional and courteous.
As an animal lover, I will not walk by an injured or abandoned animal and ignore it. I found a dog that needed care and was running in and out of traffic. To prevent the dog from further injury, I got him into my car away from traffic. I called Warren Animal Control and was told they would take the dog. Upon arrival, they refused to take the dog because I removed the dog from the streets rather than them having picked up the dog themselves. They essentially told me I should have just let the injured dog wander the streets. It was not until I threatened to let the dog loose in their lobby and walk out until they actually decided to help me find somewhere to take the dog.
Amazing officers who truly care about the animals.
This so called animal shelter has been disgusting with animals kept in deplorable conditions since I lived in Barrington over 30 years ago!! If I ever move to Warren the first place I would call is the tv stations. Then I'd visit the town council! Sounds as if nothing has changed. Fire everyone from the top position that makes all decisions!!
