Beautiful area. The road in from the north is not paved and narrow if you are coming in from up there. The road from the south is more accessible. There are restrooms available. You need to pay for a park pass usually but it is waived during COVID. Pups are not allowed here via this entrance at least. It is beautiful area with the north lake right next to THE lake and the sand dune.

I did not love this lake. Just personal preference. With the plentiful crystal clear lakes around this one was murkier and muckier. The black flies were worse here then the other beaches I went too and they were biting ☹ufe0f The access takes you to North Bar lake but if you want the lake Michigan beach its a short trek through hot sand up and over a small dune. With gear and little ones there are easier beaches to access in the area. A positive for families with small children is where the North Bar lake meets lake Michigan. A warmer neat swimming hole.

very unique place: two beaches: lake Michigan with awesome waves, stone beach, and turquoise water and small sand beach with shallow water of other lake in 2 minutes walking distance from each other. Minus: walking path is sand base - hard to walk with little kids, hard to pull carriage or vagon.

Lots of ticks. Not a good beach for kids. The beach in Empire has facilities and easier parking.
