When going over closing Star Title seemed very well put together and efficient. They offered to file my Personal Residency Exception form with the city I bought my house in. A year later I find that form never made its way to the city resulting in hours on the phone with my mortgage company & city treasurer. When looking through my closing paperwork they have you sign a affidavit saying they will send my Personal Residency Exception form to the city by regular mail. In small text near the bottom they comment you should check with the city to make sure they get it. My biggest problem is I’m paying Star Title a decent amount of money and they send it regular mail, not certified? Also not mentioning anything during closing that I should check with my city. A first or second time home buyer has a lot on their mind closing and most likely are very naive about the processes of closing on a house. We trust Star Title with this process and for me they completely dropped the ball.

Avoid this title company like plague. Client refused to close on a deal based on confidential information they provided then they said they were returning our deposit as a result. Then title company refused to return the deposit even though seller would not close but still tried to keep deposit, only until attorney was involved. Held deposit well beyond expiration of contract.

Love working with Star Title! I can always reach someone and get all my questions answered. Being a Realtor, there are a lot of moving parts of a transaction and it's nice to know the title side of things is well taken care of!

A pleasure to work with. They make everything go smooth for both the agents, and also the buyers and sellers involved. I highly recommend Star Title as they are review the file well in advance of close, and eliminate last minute issues.
