East Lansing Station

Don't use the train, just don't. Unless you want to get 2 hours late to your destination.

The East Lansing Multi-Modal Station is much more functional than it used to be. There is 24 hour access to small vestibules and during open hours there are vending machines, a ticket kiosk and bathrooms. With only two trains and a few inter-city buses each day, there really is no need to linger in the lobby.nOn the weekend mornings there are hosts to assist with boarding the Chicago bound train. There are also bike racks if that's how you roll.nThe parking fee is a drawback but I assume that means someone will patrol the parking lot at least daily.

Amtrak, please, why can you not sell assigned seats? Airplanes do it, movie theaters do it. Concert venues, opera's even high school musical programs do it. Please consider omitting all that anxiety felt by many passengers lining up to board the train by selling us assigned seats.

This is a very nice station. It’s small and is very clean. There is pleany of seats and is a very great place to watch trains.it also has restrooms and outdoor power outlets.

The platform is just a ground level slab. Countries like Germany, England, France, and others even in the third world have managed to have raised platforms that are safer and easier for passangers get in the train. All this work for a new building yet the main purpose for the train station was overlooked: The platform. It's not even covered!!
