Great bookstore and cafe. The coffee, tea and muffins were all excellent. The book selection is well and carefully chosen. Johanna is a wonderful host.
Very cute bookstore with some good reads
We stopped in here last fall when we stayed up the street in beautiful Castine. Picked up postcards and muffins. Nice place to stop in.

A slumbering, familiar, downtown Castine space has awoken to offer a diverse collection of local to global literary treasures selected by a friendly, insightful, well-travelled and maritime inclined owner whose recommendations are spot on! In truth, the rebirth of Compass Rose bookstore is unifying and warming our winter community with Fresh flowers and European chocolates so what else could there be? Did I hear a WiFi cafe and espresso barista are coming soon to their back room ? - Thank you Johanna, for adding a lovely verse to our small town tune!
