Its 11 and we still haven't finished our 9 appointment the waiting room is packed everybody's upset and the staff could care less and I'll tell you what for prices these guys are out of their minds they are $50 more for regular Ray-Ban sunglasses than anybody else I can find they don't know what they're talking about when you ask them questions I mean what good are they someone should look into this practice the amount of elderly people coming through here being treated rudely for enormous sums of cash I find to be highly suspicious normally elderly people are fairly patient but as I look around the waiting room I see people shifting from left to right in their chairs looking at their watches and sighing update if I could take a star away I would I'm 61 years old and I'm taking my 85 year old friend Gill for a simple eye test to see if he needs prescription glasses or not we've been here almost two and a half hours when I leave here I got to go help my other friend Janine who's 88 years old and has only one eye we got to get her place ready for winter. She also uses this service. She receives injections into her eyes at least four times a year and without exception these appointments take at least two and a half hours. But when you speak to other people in the waiting room they have multiple bookings for the same time slot. 4 people booked for 9 with Dr Lonsdale. It's nice to be able to spread yourself so thin and get paid for it. Think about it everyday you work you're getting 4 days of pay. Nice racket

Not impressed. I was told I would have $145 out of pocket fee for having a test fitting for contacts. Turns out the contacts were 1 to big for my eyes and not even the right strength. Later I received a bill from my insurance company stating the the CMEC had billed my insurance and now my insurance wants $115 from me. All for contacts I paid out of pocket for. Instructed not to be biller ???????

Today marks the 2nd yr in a row that an appointment was rescheduled without my knowledge. This one was made a year ago for 07:15 and somehow (unbeknownst to me) got rescheduled to 10:30 which if anyone had bothered to call me would have realized that it was not doable, but have no fear, my name is back on list to reschedule that I will never get a call on. Time for a new eye care provider. Dr Avery is a great optometrist and super chill guy. Too bad one can never see him.

I have always been a loyal customer here at Central Maine Eye Care. I called last week, and asked to make an appointment, and was told that I need to pay of a balance that I was not aware of prior to making an appointment. Today, I called and paid a rather large amount that my insurance did not cover, and when connected to the person making the appointments, I was then told that I would have to wait a couple of months to call to make an appointment, because they needed to reschedule all of those people who were not able to come in when they were closed. I told her what I was told last week, and she said that they cantt schedule my appointment. How disappointing that I may need to find someone new to do my diabetes care for my eyes, and that Dr. Avery may have lost a family of seven for eye care......

I have been seeing Dr. Avery for several years and his care is excellent. His staff is top notch as well. I always feel welcome and that each person in the chain cares about my well-being. I know others have expressed dissatisfaction with wait times and billing, but I have never experienced any of those. I have been 100% satisfied and will continue to use this practice.
