Today was my Godsons communion , a special day. The mass was not full or at max capacity. My sister tried to get in being 5-10 minutes late at most. They were trying to find the right door to enter, when they found it apparently the doors are locked and nobody is allowed to enter. They eventually found a very tall man and he opened the door and said “ no they can not enter” doors close at 9:15? My sister tried to tell him that it was the first communion and they tried all the doors and so happy he opened only to be refused. One to be refused the right to worship is absolutely sad, second the right to witness a first holy communion, and third it is a fire hazard to have the doors locked with that many people inside the building and nobody standing at the doors to let you in or out. Ironically the priest talked about forgiveness and being a few minutes late is forgivable don’t you think? No explanation was given just locked the front in front of them instead of inviting them in. The my bad 3 tickets to enter as well so there is no issue with capacity. I am so sad for what this church has become , since when do churches lock their doors for worship? Not at capacity, had tickets no excuse but just the abuse of power. I hope God forgives that man and this church for robbing people of worshipping and witnessing a once in a lifetime moment.

I remember my boyfriend and I attended a Sunday service and some of the parishioners were not to friendly. The priest also gave an Irish blessing intended for some but not all people attending. It was very clear that not all were welcome. Just to say, if you are going to give a blessing try and be all inclusive instead of exclusive! Not going there any time soon not because of the current situation but for other reasons!
