This was the most stressful hotel visit I’ve ever experienced. The water boiler went out on Thursday so there was no hot water for my weekend stay. I had the option to cancel with no fee, but by the time I found out, I didn’t have much time to waste to find a new hotel. I participated in the Potawatomi trail on Friday so I needed to get to bed early, and assumed it would’ve been near impossible to find a new place to stay with such short notice. Apparently, a hot shower is only worth 20% of the hotel charge because that was the only discount offered.nnFast forward to Friday night when I returned from my race, the people next door kept me awake with loud music and cigarette smoking that seeped in my room.nnI was mostly disappointed that I didn’t receive a courtesy call prior to my arrival that the water boiler was down. I could’ve saved myself a lot of stress by choosing a different place to stay so I could’ve showered after my trail run that left me sweaty and muddy.
This hotel will never be the same without the Original housekeeping boss or the employee that have worked there for 20plus years til the virus put us out of jobs and then some new owners took over.good luck
Charged for my room after my company paid. Room is very dusty. I found an Iphone charger wedged between the bed and the headboard.
I highly recommend avoiding this hotel, especially during COVID. My husband and I booked a night stay with them back in April when the quarantine first happened and they booked our stay and gladly took our payment. The very next day which was the night of our stay they contacted us to ask if we were traveling for pleasure or business and since we weren’t on business they canceled our trip, but have offered us no refund at that time.nnThey are now closed for renovations and both Expedia and I have reached out multiple times for a refund or voucher and have never received a call back.nnNot a good experience and not good customer service, especially during these tough times.
I’ve never had a worse experience at a hotel. The front desk staff was inexplicably rude and didn’t let us check in because “the system was new” and she couldn’t figure it out for over 20 minutes. We had paid for the hotel in advance and did not get a refund. Goodbye $110 and good riddance Mark Twain.
