We don't need a public works! Waste of tax payer money.
Not sure why we have a Public Works Department as they don't seem to do much of anything. We pay over $5000.00 a year in taxes for a 5 room home and I am sure some of that goes to the Public Works Department.nWe had a huge oak tree fall in the front yard due to all the rain and wind. It took up the entire front yard blocked the entire street and into the yard next door. It also took out all the power lines for this side of the block. When Com Ed came out they had to clear the street to get to the power lines, so they cut it up and put it on the other side of the street along the curb and in their yard. The village should have come to clear the street and remove what debris was blocking it, it is not like they don't have the equipment to do it. They also refuse to come and remove what was tossed in the yard by Com Ed in order to work. I do understand they are not responsible for my property, but if a tree went down on Algonquin Road would they have went and removed it, or told whoever lived the closest to the tree to do it. In this small of a community I would like to think the people in charge would have a little more compassion for those who live here. So much for public service!!! I wonder what would have happened had a tree on one of their properties went down?
