Prairie Fox Books is a godsend to our community! Ottawa is incredibly fortune to have a such an invested and beautiful independent bookstore. I purchase maybe 10 books per year, and I always go to Prairie Fox Books. If they don't have a book in stock, they almost always can order it for you, and it will come in quickly! They also have amazing gifts, puzzles, journals, candles, teas, and other fun stuff. I cannot speak highly enough of Dylan and the staff! They are delightful and always provide impeccable customer service. The store itself is BEAUTIFUL - they've put in so much work, time, and love into renovating the store and restoring it in historic downtown Ottawa. I look forward to what the future holds for Prairie Fox Books! SHOP LOCAL!
This cool little bookstore has been in town since 2016 yet I only became aware of them within the last year. I'm so glad that I did because nothing beats a local book or music shop in my eyes. It's always fun to see how their collection will be curated since they're locally owned and thus represents a group of people who really love what they do. And they've done a great job here. They have a nice selection of books ranging from mystery and romance to young adult and fantasy. Anything they don't have can be ordered and picked up usually within a week. The entire staff are friendly, professional and knowledgeable and every time I go in is a good experience. I've purchased all but one of my books this year at Prairie Fox and plan to give them all the business I can going forward. Support local!
Such a cute space, helpful staff, and a clear set of values that is reflected in their selection of books. We love visiting every time we are in Ottawa.
This small Independent Book Store has gone out of their way to create a warm and inclusive atmosphere, from the bare brick walls and fireplace to the friendly and always helpful staff. Go often as they have THE LARGEST selection of books in LaSalle County and beyond!
Very easy going environment and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Can't ask for more in your bookstore.
