On Sept 17th I was traveling via Greyhound. With a 5 hour layover and toting 4 bags, I was approached by security officer, Craig W.. He asked me where I was headed and assured me that he make sure I made it on the right bus. A few minutes later he approached where I was sitting with a young woman in tow. She was scared, escaping a bad situation. Craig was able to talk to several people in assisting here with securing a bus ticket back home. I have not seen this type of response from an individual in a very long time. The world needs more individuals like Officer Craig. Thank you Officer Craig for your service and the reminder that there are still good people in this world. Julie B.
I have always had a great experience at Illinois terminal over my 100 or so visits. The terminal is clean, the staff is friendly, and there is plenty of space. My experience with one employee in particular prompted me to write this review. His name is Craig Williams and he went above and beyond to help me retrieve an overnight bag that I had lost on my Amtrak ride. He pulled a lot of strings to get my bag from Amtrak and he had it waiting for me when I arrived at the terminal! His help meant a lot to me, so thank you Illinois terminal and thank you Craig!
My ulimate favorite, I have stayed here the most and need a place to stay tonight but I'm broke as the 10 commands
I was waiting on 393 (usually late, no biggie) 6 hours late this time, the Amtrak agent bought Pizza's, Breadsticks and soda's for us all.
This has been a terrible trip. The conductors and their helpers neglected to announce stops, no one announced the opening or closing of the diner/dining room cars which was probably a good thing because the food was expensive and awful. The coaches were extremely cold. This is a travesty. I originated this trip in New Orleans and once we left the station it was downhill. I have been riding the rails since before Amtrak ever existed but I think it is time for me to find another mode of transportation. Exuberant prices and poor service. Not on my dime.
