Independent Media Center in Urbana-Champaign is an art center, community meetings place, a live music venue, and has a radio station inside, plus adding a producing studio but likely in another location. Great safe space for anyone to go and hang out, check out the zine library, art along the walls, or see a show where no one will mess with you, or just let someone know if anyone bothers you.

The IMC always has something interesting going on. I recently attended a concert that a water activist put on. The sound and lighting were amazing, and it was nice seeing a show in a non-bar venue.nnThere's always art on the walls and a welcoming atmosphere. They also have a zine library and a books for prisoners program.
