A nice large cemetery located in Alton Illinois. The grounds are nicely maintained. A pleasant mix of old and new markers. Take a second look around. There's much to see here.

Every time I go to this cemetery, the only part that looks half way decent is the new part so they can sell more plots! This Cemetery needs new Management. There is a law this must be maintained. There are so many headstones from long ago that have fallen and they just lay, no one picked them up. Grass knee high in the older part. Let’s go to the State with how this Cemetery is caring for our loved ones graves!!!! I am sickened by the state of this cemetery. Beware those who buy the new plots. Someday your loved ones resting place will look just as bad as the older section. I complained and was met with a total lackadaisical attitude. They DO NOT CARE

When our son died suddenly in 2006 at the age of 21, they were very helpfull. They let us bury our son and waited for to be paid until we received his life insurance money.

Fun fact: The world's tallest man is buried in this Cemetery.

For past 10 years (approximately) the upkeep of the grounds have deteriorated greatly. The grass isn’t mowed as frequently as it should be. When it is mowed they don’t get grass or weeds growing around the tombstones, the grass from mowing is allowed to stay accumulated on the tombstones. I don’t know what can be done about the uneven ground, but it is very dangerous to walk across the lawn to the burial lot anywhere looking for loved one’s gravesites to decorate or just to may respect in remembering them. But the staff are pleasant when you need to contact them.
