I had excellent help from Steve Siegel when I first had problems with Southern Iowa Mental Health in 2010 regarding an unethical Counselor and the supervisor of SIMHC. Steve was willing to listen to my concerns, my Mom wrote to him, and he even sent me paperwork to file a complaint with the state licensing board. He went above and beyond. I didn't realize that it was just a coincidence that he had been a Social Worker himself. Therefore, in 2017 when I was viscously denied services in retribution, I naturally thought Brian Morgan would be supportive too. Boy, I was wrong! He acted as if he worked for SIMHC. I had voted for him, because I thought he wanted to represent the constituents like me. I even asked him to meet with Steve, who had recently retired from the board, but it didn't help. I brought up that I was merely considering filing a lawsuit against SIMHC AND (not the County) and he actually TOLD them and cut off communication with me. He was acting like he was beholden to them. It was bizarre. He never say down with me to talk. He avoided me, the constituent. I'm not there anymore, but my husband and I remain profoundly disappointed by his lack of support in a time of crisis.
