I grew up in Chisholm, the neighborhood next to the coliseum. I would work the events, selling sodas, popcorn and snacks or work as an usher. I saw most of the most popular bands by working the concerts, especially the Big Bam concerts. It was also a great way to meet girls. I also have fond memories of the state fair.
Watched the rodeo it was awesome. We had a great time. Place was well kept. The overbearing security was the only issue
The Garrett Coliseum is in serious need of updating. The seating is a modern day safety hazard, let alone uncomfortable. The concession stand sold the most disgusting hotdog I've ever tasted. I actually exchanged it for a bag of chips. The parking lot is full of potholes so please beware. Parking fee is $5. The coliseum could be utilized for so much more if only the city reinvest.
I have to several events over the years sometimes admission was more than I was expecting but, most every time I enjoyed the event.
Really enjoyed the NFR circuit Rodeo. So much fun!
