The Sidewalk Theater is simply a very special gem ud83dudc8e. The comfort of the seats ud83dudcba the intimate size make it one of the best places in Birmingham for an afternoon. The drinks and popcorn ud83cudf7f are the best and the prices are affordable. So much better than any chain.

Limited screenings and limited seating are just part of the Covid precautions Sidewalk is taking to have safe screenings. It felt fine to be there, and the other patrons were respectful of mask rules. As always, the picture, sound, and popcorn were impeccable.

Dope Theater! Concession prices were surprisingly affordable and what a selection between sodas, snacks, beer and cocktails! Cozy seating and it was great to feel normal in a theater even with CDC Guidelines. I'm actually very thankful because people kept their personal space and whispering during the film wasnt a problem.

I always love seeing a film at Sidewalk, but due to Covid, it had been a while. I felt so comfortable being there tonight with the safe distancing protocols in place. Currently, the theater is only being seated at a capacity of 12 out of 100, and with hand sanitizer stations, and customary mask requirements, I was able to enjoy myself with ease. Tonight’s double feature of an RBG documentary paired with the super fun 80’s classic The Legend of Billie Jean was well-timed programming and as always, the hospitality was impeccable. And somehow they have the best movie popcorn I’ve ever eaten—served in sizes and at price points that are shockingly reasonable compared to other theaters—so that sweetens the deal. Highly recommend!

Independent non profit cinema. Love it. Indie films. Full bar. Super clean and affordable. Great place to find that movie you heard about on the internet or NPR. But get there quick because movies only stay about a week or so. Ask for Jerry or John at the bar and you'll be well taken care of.
