Wonderful museum! We were surprised at the amount of military history artifacts stored here as well as local finds. Very interesting! We expected to spend 20 minutes and spent almost 2 hours.

This is a wonderful museum filled with treasures everywhere you look. Not only do you learn about the history of Wise County, there is a tremendous amount of our country's history. I loved seeing the uniforms, weapons, and medals from different wars, lady's dresses from times long ago, the medical instruments used by physicians during earlier days of medicine, children's toys and dolls... the list goes on and on. I also enjoyed looking at the architecture of the old school building, and imagining it filled with students years ago. This museum is a must see. You won't be disappointed.

Awesome Museum!!! The layout of this place was phenomenal and the historic materials were just amazing to see. The people that run this museum are outstanding and shared a wealth of knowledge before and after we finished touring the museum. I'm planning on going back some time in the future to see it again and possibly find something I may have missed the first time.

What an interesting place, jam-packed with history of every kind! Very thankful to the staff who led an after-hours tour for my son's Cub Scout troop. They were very knowledgeable and patient with our busy boys. So glad to see history being preserved in authentic and meaningful ways. It's definitely worth a visit!
