even after living in houston and d/fw, larry's shop is still my favorite. though bedrock city comes real close. of course every shop has the same new comics but larry is what makes this shop. super friendly, super helpful and always a warm and welcoming person. great sales every couple weeks and plenty of back stock to go through. i found 'ex machina' #1 recently, very surprised by that. located right in the middle of town, off abilene's main through street (sayles) on s. 14th. plenty of parking located around the building, though parking right up front is kind of tough. unlike jim, i have never had any trouble opening and looking at any comic and i have been going to this location for over five years. maybe he his thinking of the classic (expensive) comics that are cgc rated and sealed that larry keeps in the display. you can't just flip through a copy of 'amazing fantasy' #15, the first appearance of spider-man. great guy that sells great comics (with a few great stories, of his own.)

Larry knows the industry and has been helping his customers through a friendly, informed and fair approach to making deals happen, from the novice to the seasoned collector, for some years. He has a loyal, long-standing clientele that is reflective of his general enjoyment at what he does - which is mostly provide a space where stories in print meet the stories that walk through his door and find a unique haven to spin a yarn or purchase a treasure. It's a salon of the old form where people meet and conversation can happen while ideas get explored and room exists for differing opinions. Just remember to bring your sense of humor with you and the shop will soon be a place you'll want to visit regularly.
