The Labor & Delivery & Materinty teams we had throughout the long 3 day process of labor & 2 day stay after delivery were so amazing! The care, time & attention we received blew my mind. It is apparent they love what they do & they do an exceptional job! We are so thankful for everyone who was a part of our care!
My wife was in the ICU and the room was absolutely filthy. No one had any information for us for at least 2 hours. The hospital held her there against her will. She was there for 4 hours before being offered food or water. She literally had to complain in which the doctors then called the police on her. So instead of treating her as a patient in ICU she was now being treated as a criminal. The officer scared the day lights out of her. I do not recommend coming here. Please at all cost if you can avoid this place for your well being and safety. The individuals here are not here to help those that need and deserve care.
I just wanted to thank Dr Moreland and the nurses for their kind hospitality today my mom and I were in a wreck earlier today and we were transported there! They went above and beyond to keep us both informed of the other and made sure we were comfortable! Thank you for everything today! Greatly appreciated!
(So, full disclosure - I am a nurse, and a former employee of this hospital, was there for 7 years. That being said, it figures into my review very minimally.)nn2020 being what it's been, I've gotten to be the patient at Seton Hays twice this year, once in April and once in December. Both were surgeries. The second came along with a somewhat unexpected inpatient stay (I had some trouble getting symptoms under control after surgery). For someone who isn't used to being on the patient end of the transaction, it was a very different experience! These surgeries were the first I've had since I had my tonsils out at age 12, and knowing the medical terminology and what is happening (for the most part) doesn't make it any less scary.nnMy first surgery, I only dealt with pre-op and recovery, since I was able to go home the same day. The more recent surgery, I ended up being admitted for 2 days, so I also dealt with the floor that time, and every department that goes along with that. Both times, I received what I perceived as exceptional care. I am a former employee, but it's been long enough ago that probably only two people knew who I was, so it definitely wasn't just preferential care! Everyone was attentive, caring, and went the extra mile, from housekeeping, to dietary, to chaplaincy, to clinical staff. All were very responsive to my needs, and did their best to make sure I was comfortable, safe, educated, and well cared for.nnWhat was really amazing to me was that I was kept for symptom control, NOT for complications or stabilization. They could have just as easily sent me home, and would have been happy to do so had I been comfortable with it. But when it became clear that I was going to have trouble managing symptoms at home on my own, there was no arguing or back-and-forth, keeping me just happened seamlessly. As bad as I felt at the time, I would have had a hard time advocating for myself, and it was such a relief to realize that I wasn't going to have to put up any kind of fight about it. They just CARED. And that is what made all the difference.nnSo for the excellent nursing/clinical care (from all departments), the very clean facilities, the amazing food I would NEVER have believed could come from a hospital, the lovely prayers for healing, and everything in between, I don't think my experience could have gone any better. Thank you all for truly caring!
Just pray that someone you love does not end up at this incompetent and disorganized hospital. Among the myriad of issues we encountered were lack of communication (they lost my father at their hospital - told us he checked out, yet was a stroke victim and indeed there), overly agressive measures without any rationale (misplacement of catheter leading to operating room), prescribing too many medicines that caused a “watershed stroke” and forgetting a blood thinner entirely (for a stroke victim). Zero integrated health, only point of care. The left hand not talking to the right hand (instead both hands pushing patients out too early with no plan and too much medicine). Billing department was a nightmare still receiving bills where insurance was not processed. Please be very careful with this hospital.
