DS Surfaces

David and Diego have a great crew over at DS Surfaces. I had my house in San Antonio wrapped with beautiful granite and quartzite. They were easy to work with, created great designs, and are excelled Installers. Don't hesitate to drop in and give them your business. I'm going to hire them again on another property.

Great company to work with. As someone in the industry, I can tell you that not all companies are the same. David and his team treat every project, no matter the size, like it's the most important one they have! would recommend to anyone.

Had quite a handful of friends use David Shica for their counter tops. I personally visited almost every single stone yard within Austin for material and everyone knew and has worked with David and his crew before.nnThe process was pretty smooth. Unfortunately things are still old-school and out of date where you have to pick a stone, get a price through David, and then keep looking around. It creates a bit of a head-ache just to get $/ft pricing quickly. Everyone works this way though.nnI was very nervous about the install, and how they measure, but it was all done very well. They come to your home and use a laser measurement system to get the dimensions almost exact. They they come with the slab cut-to-size and do a template for edging that might not be square, and/or your sink cut-outs. David typically answers his phone and is helpful.nnThe one heads up I'll add: DS Surfaces *assumes* your flooring is rough and potentially in a state of to-be-sanded/installed later. If you are having them install a slab in an existing home or with relatively new flooring, you need to tell them this information. They don't build-in or take any measures to protect your floors. He will add time to the job and cost. I ended up installing and laying down RamBoard before they arrived, and I can guarantee you 100% that they would have damaged or scuffed our floors had I not. I think this is pretty silly, because it shouldn't matter if your home's floor is 1 day old, 1 year, or 10 years: they need to realize that a floor guard/board is a must on their end.nnYou want others, whether it is or not, to treat your home as THEIR castle as much as it is yours.

I am very glad I went with DS Surfaces over the big box store I had been contemplating for my new countertops. They were cheaper, quicker, and the material is thicker than what I found through Home Depot. David was very knowledgeable and was able to simply explain the benefits and differences in my options. From our initial meeting to the finished install took less than one week, whereas others quoted several weeks even after the initial visit. I highly recommend giving this company a call if you are thinking about new countertops.
