DABC Utah State Liquor Store #45 - Springville

I mean they sell liquor so...

We don’t drink, but the liquor store seriously has the BEST free boxes for moving! Our friends and family helping us move find our “drinking problem” hilarious :) Very sturdy boxes, lots of variety- many with cardboard inserts for glassware and ceramics, nice size for heavy stuff like books, they stack well and are easy to haul away. Just ask and staff is helpful. Store location is easy access from freeway. THANK YOU for making our move easier!

Holy H-E-double hockey sticks! I suppose it makes sense to think about rating even the most "normal" places that one wouldn't necessarily see as different. State liquor stores have a government "cookie-cutter" model they fit. There is always security. The state approved alcohols are available. You won't find bottle openers or the non-alcoholic mixers for sale (you really have to PLAN yuppie drinking, folks! Don't trust the state to make it easy! Lol). So how is THIS liquor store any different than the others? The staff are just as professional and friendly - but a bit more so, here. As they passed each other, to and fro whilst some of us waited for check out, they didn't visit and keep us waiting. They addressed each other by name, starting social with customers and keeping the atmosphere social but efficient. I saw one employee go out of her way to answer the phone at the register while the checker kept cheerfully processing sales, and they laughed together when the call was finished, and somehow had the patron laughing as well. I saw security actually walk around a couple of times, but smiling and talking to keep people at ease, perhaps? And yet still know he was there? I didn't ask him, but I was tempted. Yes, this prompt to review DOES have me thinking about how out-of-the-box business models DO have differences! Appearance: 5! very organized, stocked, clean, COVID prepared (masks and signage, sanitizer, etc) Staff:4, friendly, professional, supportive and commendable to each other Location: 3, neutral...out of the way for me, typically but on the way to the freeway from a main road. I'm sure the hotel and campground next door love it!

I love this place. I always run into my bishop and stake president. They pretend not to recognize me at first but once it's obvious they act kinda nervous and tell me they are buying for a family member. Weird. Anyhow. Great selection! Keep it up!

Over the past year their beer selection has been going further and further down hill to the point where the selection isn't even worth coming into the store for. Taking into account the lack of refrigeration, understaffing, and low product options it makes more and more sense to go to Wyoming or Nevada to deprive the state of the tax revenue.
