Nobody’s perfect and I could go on and on about that .. but let’s just say this .. for a small town police department, they have a good idea of the importance of mental health issues .. and how different people who have them, need a little bit of the kid gloves when being dealt with ..nnI have had a few dealings with officers which could have gone very badly for me if they did not have a decent understanding of this kind of thing . . and they take great care or patrolling in the area I work at ..nnI work late at night and deal with a lot of different character types .. it’s comforting to see they are less than a stones throw away if something rotten went down ..nnY’all have friends at the Exxon’s in town . Ty for keeping me safe ..

We have had many unpleasant encounters with a certain individual and the Midlothian Police Officers have all been respectful, informative and helpful in diffusing and handling each situation. I never wanted to be the person to have to depend on PD for things that are not emergent, but they have always been patient and kind. Thank you gentlemen and ladies!

The disrespect that was given to me by the Midlothian Police Department is a solid reason why LEO's are losing respect throughout the nation. Officer Flowers and Sargent Allstot are arrogant, disrespectful and condescending and you can tell that is how they deal with people. When you are making a simple request on behalf of your insurance company and they tell you they are not required to do it and that they don't work for the insurance company nor the state. Apparently they don't work for the taxpayer either. The Officer's on the scene stated that the damage was less than $1,000.00 and no accident report would be established nor information needed to be exchanged and that they would fill out a Service Report. I received the estimate back on the damage and it was over $1,000.00 so my insurance company stated that I needed to get an Accident Report from the Police Department to have on file. I went down to the Police Department and had the great pleasure of speaking with Officer Flowers who stated he wasn't going to do an accident report and that he would call up the Sargent on Duty. Sargent Allstot came up to the lobby with the same attitude and disrespect as Officer Flowers and it was basically a repeat of Officer Flowers. Apparently they don't have to adhere to the following;nnSec. 550.062. OFFICER'S ACCIDENT REPORT. (35673)(1-click HTML)n(a) A law enforcement officer who in the regular course of duty investigates a motor vehicle accident shall make a written report of the accident if the accident resulted in injury to or the death of a person or damage to the property of any one person to the apparent extent of $1,000 or more. (35674)nnText of subsection effective until September 01, 2019 (35675)nn(b) The report required by Subsection (a) must be filed with the department not later than the 10th day after the date of the accident. (35676)nnText of subsection effective on September 01, 2019 (35677)nn(b) The report required by Subsection (a) must be filed electronically with the department not later than the 10th day after the date of the accident. (35678)nn(b-1) If the motor vehicle accident involved a combination of vehicles operating under a permit issued under Section 623.402, the report required by Subsection (a) must include the weight and the number of axles of the vehicle combination.
