I only walked paved paths, and the changes in elevation and length of the path combined for good exercise. I captured a great view from a lookout and passed multiple fields of flowering plants. This preserve is beautiful and well maintained. I'd like to return to walk the nature paths sometime. Jogging or biking here are also good ideas for those that do either or both.nnEDIT: I have been here many times since it's the closest of my favorite nature preserves, but I don't love this place anymore and haven't for a while, so I'm rating it 4 stars. My previous paragraph still holds true. The nature paths are nice and would be more enjoyable if the waterways running through the park were high, but nature is to blame for that.nnThere are 3 other nature preserves that I consider significantly more beautiful and challenging in the metro: 1 in southern Dallas and 2 in northwest Fort Worth. Arbor Hills is good in its own right, and it'd be my top recommendation to those that don't want to travel to south Dallas or northwest Fort Worth for a scenic or moderately challenging walk.

The park was great but it was too crowded, including the parking lot.

We live very close to this Nature Preserve and love all it has to offer. People drive here from a distance because often there are no spots to park on a nice day. Parking is plentiful, don't get me wrong.nPeople take pictures here for yearbooks and prom etc. Personally, I don't think its all that wonderful for those pictures. It would be nicer if the open areas were seeded with bluebonnets or other wildflowers for spring. But I also get that the objective is to keep it natural.

I couldn't decide whether to give Arbor Hills four or five stars. In Plano Texas I think it is a wonderful place to go. I was recently on a hiking trail in Austin which I would consider much nicer. There was a big stream and more trees. I'm sure there are hiking trails in Colorado that have views of the mountains. So there are nicer places to explore nature. What I like about Arbor hills is that it is very well kept up. I didn't see trash, and the people were all following social distancing rules which is important to me during this time of Covid-19. I went late at night, and it's important to bring a flashlight because there are no lights on the trails. There wasn't very much lighting in the parking lot either. I have been in the daytime as well and would recommend that instead. The pavilion seems like a nice place to have a gathering although I never have used it. Be prepared to see a little wildlife from time to time. I have seen an armadillo and the usual rabbits and squirrels. Someone reported seeing a snake last time I was there although I expect it was a harmless one. Definitely good to get away from the buildings and the man-made structures and be in nature.
