I try not to rate local businesses too bad, however I have to say that the food was just okay. It may be just my opinion though, so keep that in mind. I just prefer a different style of Chinese food. For example the Orange Chicken is normally sweet when it get it everywhere else, but here it really didn't have that sweet taste at all. Again, that may be their style and it might be yours, but not mine. It wasn't like there was anything wrong with the food, it was just not what I expected personally.
I was skeptical at first b/c of some reviews and the fact that Hispanics were in the kitchen, and Asians were only working the register...but everything we ordered ($72worth) was delicious, plentiful, and exactly how I asked. I recommend this place, and it’s one of the only Asian spots that have wings. Not Korean bbq wings.
The only saving grace was the egg foo young. Only ordered here because my favorite place took it off the menu. Everything else was terribly Bland. The teriyaki chicken looked steamed, which is terrible as it should be grilled. No color on any of the chicken. The sechaun chicken was no where near spicy and just bland.
We genuinely love ordering from HKE. We get the family of 4 deal and enjoy the vegetarian and meat options. We always need extra dumplings, HKE makes them perfectly.nMy girls love the broccoli stir fry and the cashew stir fry. My hubs loves their lo mein as well as the General.nI eat the lemon fried dinner with thei equistote soups!!!!nWe haven't found anything that wasnt amazing and fresh.
I already left a 5 star on yelp a few months back, but this is by far our FAVORITE place to get takeout! They make amazing food, huge portions, ALWAYS (and I mean every single time, even if we order via a delivery place and have special instructions) get our order correct, are extremely friendly every time we go in, and are meticulous to make sure every experience is great. I’m sure that isn’t only for us as we don’t go in enough to be a “regular”. They are a great restaurant, run by great people. 10/5 stars. I can’t sing enough praises of this place.
