Really good BBQ...If not for Dean's in Terrell, who really is the best within 100 miles, Shorty's would get six-stars. Tater salad is great, brisket has a really good flavor, and cowboy beans have a great taste. I just wish BBQ restaurants wouldn't be afraid of heat...the best BBQ I ever had was sold by an old black man in a shack. It was so hot you could barely eat it, but once you took the first bite, it was so good you couldn't stop eating. But Shorty's is still one of the best.

My first time there. Got a free sample of smoked bologna. Which was very good. Sliced brisket is tender, juicy had a hint of maybe applewood flavor. When mixed with there BBQ sauce that flavor is awesome. Also had cheese potatoes and cole slaw. Everything was very good. Definitely will be going back for seconds.

Shorty’s BBQ is exceptional. I mainly go for the backed potato although their sampler plate was very good as well. Aubrey was very kind and treated me very well. Will be back frequently.

Nice place, great food and very reasonably priced. Owners were friendly and welcoming and come over to our table to ask us how we were doing.
