The teachers and staff here are amazing (some of my friends hated their teachers and of course I had some days when I was eh, but) they care about their students and want the best for us. I made some amazing memories and I will honestly really miss the school.

Great academics great staff great opportunities great for a lot

We are brand new to Wylie ISD and we are already extremely impressed. On Monday a staff member saw my little girl sitting by herself at lunch, as she had done everyday for the first week of school, this staff member took time to go find another student with the same schedule as my daughter and introduce them. Now my little girl doesn't have to sit alone anymore. This warms my heart more than I can say. Thank you for caring about the kids ud83dudc9c.nnOn an academic note; it's only week two for the year but again I am impressed. My daughter has dyslexia and right away Mrs. Fisher (dyslexia coordinator) and Mrs. Ragsdale (counselor) have reached out to get my daughter in the Take Flight program for dyslexia right away.nHer other teachers have already sent emails about upcoming projects and due dates. I like this because I can talk with my daughter about the projects to see how well she is understanding them and I can have her make a note on her calendar to have a visual idea of the due date.nI also love how the teachers are encouraging the students to keep a watch on their grades through Skyward to make sure they don't have missing assignments. I believe some teachers even set aside class time once a week to have the students check Skyward right there.nI'm very glad to hear this because in our last district Skyward was hardly ever updated in a timely manner, you could never really see what you were missing.nOn a separate note, I have a daughter at Whitt Elementary as well and I am loving that school just as much.nGreat job Wylie ISD, Cooper Junior High and Whitt Elementary! Y'all have made our transition to a new district so easy, we are looking forward to many more years with WISD.
