King Crab Shack

The seafood quality was fantastic. The orders were cooked to perfection, but the flavor profiles were weak and bland. If they can improve on how the season the food this could be a phenomenal seafood restaurant. As it stands now I wouldn’t spend my money to eat here again. Hopefully the last long enough to improve and I can perhaps give them another shot in 3-6 months.

So excited I can get king crab so close to home and not have to drive into Dallas! On a rainy Thursday night, first week they opened I had a good experience. Sat at the bar and ordered the king crab no seasoning, side of fries and had a couple beers. It came out in a boil bag fast and hot and was delicious! I’ll def go back and try their other dishes later, but I had to get my favorite first :)

For starters if it was possible, I would be giving this a zero star review. I didn’t even go to this restaurant, but I have second hand embarrassment from just being told the horrific story a friend experienced there tonight. This in fact is literally the worst restaurant in the history of ever. Even if you haven’t worked a role in food service before, there is some basic common sense around running a restaurant. For one, what kind of service brings out some of the tables meals and not all at once. It’s such a difficult and uncomfortable situation for the customers because they are hungry but don’t want to eat their meals because not everyone has them yet. While waiting for the rest of the members to get their meals the people that already do have their meals are slowly nibbling on what they have and by the time the others FINALLY get their meals everyone else is already done eating. On top of that, you’ve been working on this restaurant for how long now? And for all this time you’re going to have the inside look like this? I mean if you’re not going to at least have a welcoming inviting restaurant that doesn’t look like a decked out office space, at least serve good food, and have decent service. I cant imagine serving a table from 3 feet away and the customers not even know I’m talking to them. Then having a small restaurant (not having a lot of tables to tend to) walking past one of my tables and not refilling their drinks. Oh no not even a late refill not one single refill on the drink what so ever. Then on top of all of this you serve the appetizer that requires sauce without any sauce. Then once the table nicely asks for sauce you act like you’re going to get it then start helping other people. Then have to wait for someone else to finally come over to the table and ask them for sauce, but what do you know they can’t make it back to the table with the sauce in a mannerly time, so you finish the appetizers because you were so hungry. Oh but that’s not all. You ordered an appetizer (calamari) and didn’t receive it until AFTER your actual meal!!! I know this is a new business but this is ridiculous. Then after all of this madness, you want to charge 200 + dollars for 5 people? That’s insane. And this isn’t a high end restaurant. In fact this food tastes like you bought it from the Walmart across the street and just cooked it in the restaurant. I advise you public citizens of Murphy Texas, DO NOT attend this restaurant if you are looking to have a nice evening with your friends or family. DO NOT attend this restaurant if you’re looking to receive good service. DO NOT attend this restaurant if you’re hoping not to be bankrupt after eating this horrible food. I advise you all to go to the Christina’s across the street.

Food was good, service was great! Place was nice and clean. We had their crawfish, flavor was pretty good. Oyster was fresh. Shrimp and clam was great as well. You need to come and check it out for yourself.

Ordered 2 appetizers for 4 people 1 came out other didn't. Ordered soft shell crab which came out soggy and dirty tasting, one fish basket did not come out other fish and shrimp basket was very soggy and fish tasted dirty. French fries were soggy. Only had sweet tea no unsweetened and the sweet tasted like a bag sugar. Such a shame waited for a good seafood place but will never go back.
