Ellen’s restaurant: We dropped into a restaurant today just because we noticed it while driving by. It turned out to be great food and a very pleasant experience. The ingredients were fresh, the food was tasty, and it was a generous portion. We got seated in the bar area. The ambience was much nicer inside than we had expected. It was clean, spacious, and well lit. Our waiter/bartender gave us a little history on how the restaurant got started. His name is Chris F., and he stated that he really enjoyed working there. Chris was so pleasant, the service was prompt, and we were able to enjoy good food and conversation. The place has been there since August 2020. They’re breakfast/brunch menu is served all day long. Their motto is “It’s brunch O’clock somewhere.” I highly recommend this place, and you would be supporting local business!

Every time I eat here, it is delicious. I have not ever had a bad dish at this restaurant. I love breakfast, and this is one of the best breakfast restaurants in the city. All the staff is extremely professional and efficient as well. Jeremy was impeccable when we were there last, I don’t get service that good very often. Can’t recommend Ellen’s enough!

I dined here tonight for the first time. I will tell you that the atmosphere is great and the staff is super nice. The decor is nice but the food is awesome! I had the chicken fried chicken and I ate every little bit of it so I didn't miss a single bit. My 2 other dinner mates said their entrees were just as good. My 2 cents...here here. I will be back for sure.

Nice establishment, they made great use of the space, but you can hear everyone's conversation around you and they can hear yours, so that was kinda of weird, some kind of separation would have been nice. Onto the menu. There are lots of options, some things familiar and some unique which made for a difficult decision (which is a good problem). I chose the meatloaf and I was not disappointed, my family members had the chicken fried chicken and the Cajun shrimp and grits, I tasted both and they were very good. I can say with confidence, you will not have a problem finding something to your liking. What I did take issue with, is the shrimp and grits costing $24.00... blew my mind... this places Ellen's in the once in a blue moon category. My total bill for three people was in the ball park of $85.00 (with tip). Like I said, you will enjoy what you eat and the service you receive, but it comes with a premium. I did enjoy the food and I will visit again, just not often.

A group of ladies met for brunch Saturday morning, trying a new restaurant in Allen. They were not busy. The service was certainly not professional, the waiter had to ask what each ordered in order to deliver the correct breakfast. Water glasses never refilled. My eggs Benedict were ice cold. Others said the same. The prices were outrageous! My dish was $15–2 eggs, English Muffin, small amount of greens and hollandaise sauce! Other breakfast/lunch restaurants in the area are much better!
