Peppersmash - Craft Bar & Kitchen

I very much try to support this local business. I think they have a great menu and drink specials/drink menu. They have great support staff but we continuously get a very terrible waitress. Zachary is an incredible addition to your staff- he’s quick to remove plates and refill water- give this dude a raise or a customer facing position. Our starters were great, our drinks were great (aside from the Spritz- which tasted like cough medicine) and our burgers were great. BUT Management HAS got to get rid of the dead weight wait staff. Venus, started off by asking how to split the checks, immediately, which felt so strange for just two people dining. Upon ordering the spritz she responded with “well haven’t had that drink ordered in a long time” instead of maybe recommending something else. She continuously made sure she made it clear which item was on which tab and when we said we would like to split the burger she said she couldn’t split a charge down the middle? The spritz barely was consumed when we immediately requested a different drink- she didn’t even question the quick change over. And honestly I wouldn’t have told her because she probably would have spit in our beverages. Upon bringing out our last drink - we placed our empty glasses to the side and accepted the new ones, but she then took the empties and turned them over to get the last drops out of our empty glasses into our new beverages? The tiniest bit of what’s probably backwash splashed right into our new beverages along with the old lemon rind. I really want to like this place and maybe next time I should know best not to sit in this particular server’s section.

Cool atmosphere, but food was lacking. The lettuce on the Cesar salad was so huge, I don’t enjoy paying almost $10 for a plate of large lettuce that hasn’t been cut down to size, but I understand that could just be me. I also got the bison chili and I enjoy spicy things, but it was too much. I couldn’t take more than one bite. My Kids got chicken nuggets, those were pretty good, along with the French fries, they were really good. The kids Mac and cheese needed some flavor, just a touch of salt cooked in would have helped and it was pretty dry. Husband got a salad and steak and ratatouille. He didn’t seem super impressed. People seemed nice and atmosphere was cool, I hope they take some feedback and improve the food.

We went here for the first time last weekend and was blown away by everything. The staff was super friendly, they had live music (which we really enjoyed), and the food was phenomenal. Meal was the following: Mussels for appetizer, Scallops and Brussels sprouts for dinner.nnHonestly Allen has needed something like this for a long time, breath of fresh air in my opinion.

Waited 20 minutes for a wait person after sitting down. $32 steak was supposed to be cooked medium. Delivered to the table rare. Waitress took it back to the kitchen and returned with it cooked well. Steak meal was supposed to come with green beans, but delivered to the table with beets. Place has very poor acoustics. Not a place to go to have a conversation at. Drinks were good during happy hour.

Elizabeth is the server we had this evening. She’s a 10 for being pleasant and our orders were out quickly. She answered all our questions. Good food. Great service. We’ll be back.
