San Antonio Walks & Drives

As a San Antonio resident, sadly, I’ve never been impressed with any tour I’ve taken here - ever! And, we’ve taken many as my wife and I do “staycations” about 4x a year. In addition, we regularly host guests from all over the world both for business and personal. I wish I could dazzle them with something special but by now the old standbys and many of the new, highly rated?, have been very disappointing! Nothing here like some exceptional ones we’ve taken either in the US or abroad.nnAlas! San Antonio Walks & Drives came on my radar screen via an internet search. I read the report/review of this company from a Newspaper columnist that I actually knew, and it was quite flattering as she mentioned the guide as humbling her and called him the master. Right there, I knew these tours might be different knowing her vast knowledge of San Antonio and Texas history.nnNow, I can proudly show off my city to anyone and everyone via these tours and my guests say they are really impressive. Some have visited San Antonio several times and only NOW view our city as having a very special place in US and even world history! I doubt you will hear similar comments made about any type of tour, etc. I, myself, as a previous educator, have been completely schooled, just like Nancy, my columnist friend was. I think all local educators, city officials and new residents should take these tours, indeed, required! No single resource has been as enlightening.

My wife and I love history and we strive to learn about it at every opportunity. That said Gary was by far the most educated and passionate tour guide we have ever had the privilege of following. We highly recommend going on any of his tours and always take his advice on where to dine.n-Newly Weds from NJ
