Our group tour was a bit disorganized through various group activities. Guides were average at best.nnSome took their foodie tour on our own and we were not impressed with the food. I mean not terrible, but I would think, like food tours we'd taken elsewhere, there'd be some truly outstanding offerings here or there but nothing really popped. On this tour, we were also taken to an art gallery under the presumption we might buy something?nnIf you're ever part of an organized convention or conference group, do your own research and ask your event planners to find the truly good tours or suggest ones based on your own research - not just ones that can cover it. That's what I'll be doing in the future.

I recently had family visit from Canada and we all went on the Missions Tour. Don the guide was a history teacher and was wonderful as the guide. Very knowledgeable and highly recommend this tour if you are in to history.nWe recently did a Focus on Mexico tour in Lake Chapala Mexico , lasting 8 days and it was worth every penny and more. This tour, the foody tour is poorly thought out and run.n. If I had spoken to shelly prior to booking this tour, I would have not booked it.It was after Xmas and she was away till Jan 11th I believe and there is no refund once you book. First of all, she was reluctant to give information, and would not tell us where to meet her. This required 4 phone calls in total. It is all dependent on what would be convenient for her . Then she tried to talk me into doing the mission and foodie tour on the same day, so it would be more convenient for her.nFor example I asked her where we would go. She did not know. What kind of car would be looking for? Don't know. It was only $2.50 to park but it would be nice if she recommended you bring quarters. We suggested that to her. She said that she uses her debit card. We had to meet her under the expressway at I 37 and Houston.nThe first restaurant we went to was Josephs's Bakery. The only good thing we thought was the cheese cake and this was very heavy to give us at the first restaurant. I would suggest a to go box so that you can try it near the end. No one came to greet us and the service was not friendly. The bread tasted stale like day old bread.nThe second restaurant was Augies Barbeque. We were given a little paper carton with barbeque , some white bread, and barbeque sauce . My brother in law got quite ill , was ve ry bloated , and could not eat anything for more than 24 hours after the tour. Again, no one came to greet us, and they are called 10 minutes in advance and are supposedly ready for you.nThe third place was Tycoon Flats. The owner Rick was friendly, had plates and silverware all set for us, and came and explained everything. His waiter was also excellent. I would certainly go back there again. The food was quite delicious also!!nLuther's was the fourth place. They also had the food all ready for us and the service was good.nThe fifth place was Joyce's Cupcakes. We were all too full to eat anything. We decided to have coffee on the veranda. The coffee was lukewarm, had to be heated up and was still lukewarm and poor coffee. There were no to go containers and the cupcakes were put in styrofoam cups. The bathroom was dirty and needed cleaning. Family commented about this.nI would never do this tour again. It would be much better to go out to a nice meal.nBut as far as a foodie tour, I went home with pretty severe abdominal cramps.
