San Antonio Eye & Face Institute: Relief Jones, III, M.D. & Maria Isabel Triana, M.D.

The office staff are SO nice and helpful. Been experiencing some weirdness with my vision of late and wanted to determine if it really was eye related or neurological. I sent a request for an appointment over the weekend and got a call back Monday morning. Described my symptoms. And totally lucked out as someone had cancelled for the next morning and they offered me the spot (love when offices will do that!).nnEverything from start to finish about the appointment was very pleasant and smooth. Got my first ever in-depth eye exam. And saw Dr. Triana. She is very good about telling you what she is doing and what to expect, which I always appreciate in the medical field. She is also open to questions and explaining anything patiently and without judgment (hugely important!). And, on top of that, she did some really cool stuff in Glaucoma research, which was intriguing to hear about! Walked away with an annual appointment set up for next year, which should help head off any issues if they happen.nnThese folks seem pretty busy, but you never feel like anyone is impatient or that you're an inconvenience. 5 stars for that!nnThe only caveat that is a ding is they are an office with monetary cancellation penalties (to avoid them you must cancel more than 24 hours in advance). I have a personal dislike for that practice as life happens and if someone is missing a medical appointment, it's not usually because someone wanted to (especially given how long you sometimes have to wait to get one). They do have all their forms on their website (under Patient Info), so you can read their policies in advance, which is great. They seem very upfront about their practice, so would definitely honestly answer any questions.

This was my first appointment to this office and everyone was welcoming and helpful. Dr. Triana gave me a very thorough eye exam. She was very informative taking her time to explain everything to ensure that I understood the next steps.

Dr. Triana is one of the most patient & knowledgeable doctors that I've ever visited. She provides a through assessment and is a great listener to her patients. Their staff & clinic is impeccable and they are very easy to work with.

I have been a patient of Dr. Triana's for 5 years now. The professionalism shown by the doctor and staff is always the best. Dr. Triana treats the patient with respect and concern. I can't say enough good things about this practice. My wife was fortunate to have Dr. Jones perform her double cataract surgery with great success and minimal down time. She greatly appreciates and respects him. He gave her eye site back and she can never repay him for his expertise.

Dr Triana is awesome! In my 60+ years I have never had a physician of any type be as thorough as she is. She actually takes the time to listen and explain her findings. I highly recommend her! The entire staff is very professional!
