I love living in McMinnville - respectful and honorable police force has been my experience so far. Seems they understand the reasons behind the law and are not quota driven. Ticketed for speeding while still learning the speed limits in town. Driving school was actually enjoyable believe it or not! Definitely didn't expect that. This is a safe town, and the law enforcement here is much preferred to a big city police force if you ask me.

My fiance lives in Huntsville, AL and I live in Cookeville, TN so we travel through McMinnville regularly. We received 2 tickets because of the McMinnville police speed traps. We try hard to obey the speed limit but it drops so suddenly it is really hard to see the limited signs in time. The sad part is that the police officers we dealt with use it as a trap and prey on people from out of town. The police officer one time insinuated that if we were local we wouldn't have received a ticket. The other time my fiance was driving for valentine's day and the police officer was rude and insulting. He even tried to write her up for something incorrectly. My advise - avoid McMinnville!
