Poplar-White Station Library - Memphis Public Library

I worked here for a few years. We were encouraged to lie to customers about services and were consistently told different rules we had to enforce. Communication was really bad with management and any employee who went out of their way to ensure customer's be treated with respect was thrown under the bus.

Kept neat and most of the employees are friendly and always available to help. Just had multiple bad experiences with a couple. For example - When I asked if I can get a list or advice on books that are suitable for 5th grader or 10 year old - The answer was you need to figure out or search and tell me what books you want exactly and I can let you know the availability.nnBut I would definitely recommend this location. Small, neat and friendly staff.

What an absolute waste of space. One of the cheapest libraries I have ever had the misfortune of experiencing. For instance, I had my computer plugged into one of the outlets, and realized moments later that it was not there anymore. Given the fact that this library is filled with homeless people I nearly freaked out thinking it was stolen. However, it was taken without permission by an employee, and I had to figure that out 30 minutes later because I was never told. The fact that you have to pay for charging stations is ridiculous. Clean this place up in every aspect possible.

Very good and helpful staff! Activities for kids and adults alike, together and separately! A positively learning environment.

Small. They have trouble logging books back in correctly.
