Hollow Log Cabins

We were very saddened by our stay. We stayed back in August. We wanted somewhere secluded to go for our anniversary and chose here for price, location, ratings. And honestly I don't know how it has such good ratings. It was SOOO DIRTY and infested with fruit flies/ gnats. The gnats/fruitflies were so bad we either would eat in our cars or went out to eat because you couldn't eat in peace inside the cabin. Plus the kitchen was completely unusable. The fridge/freezer stank, the microwave and stove had grease all over them. There was old food from other people in the cabinets and fridge. The cabinets and drawers with the silverware and dishes had food crumbles, dirt in them and were sticky. I could go on, it needed a DEEP cleaning. I wiped up all the rest of the dirt and dust with my lysol wipes off of all other surfaces outside of the kitchen. I took a broom to the spiders that had made webs all in the cabin, but that's kind of norm for a cabin. The trash outside was full when we got there. We only went in the cabin to sleep and shower. Except for the full day I had to stay because the coded lock for the door wouldn't lock. You don't get a key to the side door just the code for the coded lock on the front door. I sent my husband fishing by himself because we didn't feel comfortable leaving the cabin unlocked while we were gone all day. We contacted the owner about the lock and she said it probably needed batteries which we then bought and it was still finicky. We left after a couple nights very displeased with our accommodations. Only good comment I could possibly leave is the bed was comfortable and the owner seemed friendly.

Not sure if I want everyone on Google to know about this amazing little cabin. I want it all to myself! Extremely peaceful with everything in a cabin you could ask for. The cabins sit on a dead end road with only 2 houses past it, so we only saw 1 car during our 5 night stay. Plenty of housewares included with a full kitchen. Patio with seating and a charcoal grill. Fire pit between the cabins with a picnic table. One tv in the main living room with direct tv now, Netflix, Amazon prime and other apps. Hunting and fishing regulations were on the coffee table with plenty of other local reading materials. Only 7 minutes from Holly Creek Marine, not the nicest Marine on Dale Hollow, but they have all the lake necessities, which includes boat ramp, fuel, ice, drinks, and a bit more. Lastly, the owners were in the other cabin and they were very friendly and down to earth!
