Forks of the river wildlife area is perfectly fine and beautiful. What's not fine are these directions. Maps takes you to a place I believe is called Pickle Island with a pool manufacturer that is gated. We made it through the gate and were almost trapped inside. The wildlife area is on the OTHER side of the river with no way to cross . You must drive another 20 minutes from here to cross the river and see the fields , which is nice. Google Maps , please fix!!!
Great little piece of the Knoxville Urban Wilderness. It's is lower frills than the rest of the areas (no public restrooms, no water fountains, no trash bins, etc.) But it is also less crowded, except when the sunflowers are blooming. Cool views of the headwaters of the Tennessee river The interior trails are only open in the summer months, but the perimeter green way and west perimeter trail are open for hikers year round. During the he hunting season, I would recommend wearing bright colors. And definitely keep your pets on leash. Be sure to pack out your trash to keep this place beautiful!
I love going here to walk or run with my dog. I also bring my kiddos here to ride bikes. The trail is paved. Also, if you are into mountain biking, they have a ton of non paved trails as well. You can sit by the river as well, great views. During the day, you'll see small airplanes landing at the nearby airport.
This is a place to check out when you’re in Sevierville TN. This is wear I’m buying my summer home. I love Florida but need a few months up here lol. Can’t wait till we go again
Very nice walk along river kids ride their bikes. In summer months they have an amazing sunflower ud83cudf3b field
