Little River Gem Mine

Little place that holds so much fun. 6 year old loved picking out his own bag full of colored glass, minerals, marbles and tiny gem pieces.nThey have large gems, geodes, and fossils. Kids can pan through a bucket of sand to find gems and fossils.nThe owner was the friendliest person. He loves talking with and teaching kids about the minerals and gems.

We came here for the gem mining and my kids loved it. They got a lot of cool stones. The lady working explained to them how to do it and checked on us a few times. She also would tell the girls the names of their stones, she is really knowledgable about the different stones. The prices here for the gem mining are right on target with others in the area. The staff is great.

We were not sure where to go for gem mining. This place was great and way less commercialized. The owner really educates my 7,,10, 12 year old boys. They all really enjoyed it. I highly recommend.

The owner is so sweet and friendly! You don’t meet too many people like this man anymore. He was also so patient with our youngest as she wanted to touch everything.nnI’m so glad we decided to stop here on our way home. When we travel back. We will definitely be stopping by to see him!

My kids 17 &14 had so much fun! We started out with $35 buckets each. Then went to a $100 bucket. What we like were some of the findings were polished already. All the stones were a good size. My son found a geo and the man helped him open it. It's also, didn't feel touristy, which we liked.
