Dr. Curtis was wonderful. Explained everything; and I had no discomfort at all. Extractions went cleanly with minimal bleeding; and no pain after. His nurse and the receptionist were so supportive and helpful.

I went into the dentist office today and felt extremely disrespected and taken advantage of. I called into the office and explained in great detail the urgency of my situation. I first was told to pay $50 for 2 appointments missed prior, even though I didn’t make them, they were follow-ups. After that I went into the back with resident Kate Schneider, where I received less than anything but service. I had an comprehensive test ran that our insurance (blue cross/ blue shield) (Delta Dental) doesn’t pay for but every 3 years. I had this same test 2 years ago so I had to pay for this out of pocket. She showed me my wisdom tooth is growing slanted under my other back tooth and pushing against a nerve. Then she proceeded to tell me that she could not do anything with this and I needed an oral surgeon. I understood but asked for something for the pain, “I haven’t had a night sleep in 4 days now,” I explained to her. I also let her know I recently had taken Hydrocodone and it didn’t help. She looked at me and advise me to take Tylenol. I explained that did not help. She just dismissed me and sent me to the front. No prescription for pain meds or anything. She didn’t even attempt to help with the pain. She just said in a Condescending and careless voice, “ have a good day Mr. West!” Once I got to the front, receptionist Tunisia Smith, went out her way to assist me. The resident, Kate Schneider agave me an referral for an oral surgeon a week away. Tunisia was able to find me one for the next day. After Tunisia stepped away to handle other business, she asked her co-worker to finish my visit. The other receptionist was rude and acted as if I was a problem. She told me my visit was $120 today out of pocket and I needed to pay that now, at time of service. I explained I really didn’t receive service and I work for Palmetto Health and I had insurance. She began to talk loudly to me as patients standing behind me was able to hear. I told this receptionist I didn’t want to argue and just bill me. She said “NO” and “payment must be made now!” I’m a Palmetto Health employee and I have the insurance. To be treated this way was unacceptable and against the code of conduct. I called the supervisor of the dentist office, Theresa Williams, but I haven’t received a return phone call. I’m disputing these charges for this visit with my insurance and payroll.

I needed an emergency extraction and was able to schedule that same day. I was really apprehensive about the dentist in general so going in I didn't expect it to be a very good visit since my pain was already excruciating and going from past experience I thought I was basically going to be tortured. This location is possibly one of the best dental offices I have ever been to. The entire staff from the front desk to the back were absolutely amazing and accommodating to my needs. I will be using this location from now on and would recommend anyone to come here. Thank you for the fantastic service you all provide.

Went in with extreme pain and was turned away because I had blue Cross Blue Shield. It is sad how money or the right medical coverage is what move doctors to help patients. If you have medicaid you must deal with the pain because nobody cares.
