Unique place in the Wilmington area that is an authentic horse oasis. Long wooded trails to ride, nice sand covered arena to practice all disciplines and very experienced instruction available to elevate skills of the novice to experienced rider. To me it feels like a little getaway to Kentucky every time I have the pleasure of visiting. Karen the owner is highly knowledgeable and helpful.

We recently took our daughters here for riding lessons for our youngest daughter's birthday. It was worth every penny! The owner was kind and they were very patient and helpful with the kids and the animals. It was a very relaxing atmosphere and we all had a great time! Highly recommended!

I have been to Wonderlands Camp for 2 years now and it soooo fun and educational I would definitely recommend it. I have also been taking lessons and Ms. Karen is amazing and is so kind. If you have been thinking of taking lessons I would definitely recommend this facility!

If I could give this place zero stars I most definitely would. We were here for a trail ride for my daughter’s birthday and it was a complete nightmare. Everyone was very unprofessional, the owner was rude from the get go, they mentioned several “issues” that the horses had that we were riding, they suggested it might be ok if the adults didn’t wear helmets (I wore one anyway). As we set off on the trail with our guide it quickly became clear that no one had walked the trail in weeks to ensure it’s safety, when we came to a large tree laying across the path and she says “Oh, that wasn’t here before. It must have fallen during the hurricane.” (The hurricane that was more than 3 weeks ago) There were also very large spider webs that we had to duck underneath, which could have easily turned into a disaster had one of the kids run into one. At one point my daughter’s horse tried to get her off of him by backing up into the trees and brush, which understandably freaked her out. Instead of speaking to her in a kind way, the guide yelled at her like she was dumb for not knowing what to do.nnAs we were nearing the end of our trail, we came to a large puddle and my horse didn’t want to walk through it, so instead she tried to go around it which put us into the trees and brush. Something about that spooked her and she started walking really quickly. I did what I was told to do and tried to stop her, but instead she took off running out of the woods as fast as she could. I stayed on for around a quarter of a mile and then she bucked me off of her. I landed, and when I looked up I see another horse running full force towards me. Thankfully I was able to crawl out the way before it got to me. I found out later that our guide was also thrown off and that it was her horse running towards me.nnAt this point I want the kids off of the horses as quickly as possible. As we’re trying to get everyone off, our guide walks away and leaves us unattended, with horses that I’m sure were very stressed out. Then, I hear screaming and cussing coming from the barn. Someone screams “he just hit me!” I’m still unsure of what exactly was going on, but from what I was told by our guide a couple of days later, the owner assaulted her husband for some reason. So there we are— I have just been thrown from a horse running full force, I’m trying to get my children off of their horses, and we are left completely unattended.nnAs we’re walking to our cars an elderly lady walks over and proceeds to say— referring to the owner and her staff— “I’m sorry, they are a crazy,” which in my opinion was very telling and confirmation that this isn’t the first time they’ve acted like this.nnAfter getting the kids in the car I had to walk back into the barn to get my phone and my sunglasses. At this point, the confrontation had stopped and the guide and her boyfriend had left the property. The owner was there in the barn and didn’t even speak to me.. never once asked if I was ok or anything. I spoke up and asked if there was anything they could do about my medical bills and she looked at me like I was a complete idiot and says “Well, you signed a waiver.” Zero compassion and as rude as she possibly could have been. I get that animals are unpredictable and I understand that I signed a waiver, but there were multiple instances of negligence in this situation, not to mention the way the owner handled it was completely disgusting—Complete lack of human decency.nnIn the end, things could have been much worse. I could have ended up paralyzed or even worse. I’m just extremely sore and badly bruised. And I am SO SO thankful that it was me and not one of my kids. But I just want people to be aware of the situation so that they can avoid this place at all costs.

Mrs. Karen and Mrs April was very nice and professional. This was my first time riding in over 30 yearsnI plan on going back. I wish the trail was wider a more bush free because of my inexperienced riding.nThank you for the fun day and all the education that I recieved about horses and the ranch.
