Me and my family and family friends have made several trips with the Quapaw Canoe Company. John Ruskey and his crews have always been professional, helpful and friendly. The canoes that we have used on our trips are awesome and well maintained. All safety equipment was provided.nnWe have taken day trips from the mouth of the St Francis River to the River Park boat ramp at the Helena harbor. The Mississippi River is a great place to see and visit and this trip will not disappoint you. Just being on the river is an experience that that makes this trip worthwhile but there is more to it.nnThe river is home to all sorts of wildlife. We have seen Bald Eagles, Ospreys, Pelicans, Great Blue Herons, Terns, Crows and various waterfowl. Deer are sometimes seen along with turtles and fish. You can also expect to see towboats with large tows of barges.nnThere are many large and interesting sandbars on the river but I am partial to the one at Buck Island which is about halfway on this trip. River levels permitting, you can expect to stop here to wander around. There are areas of sand and gravel with all sorts of interesting contours created by river currents when the levels are high. You may see deer, coyotes, turtles and all sorts of birds. I saw a couple Bald Eagles last time I was there. There are lots of cool pieces of drift wood to see (sometimes entire tree trunks). Just a awesome place to spend some time.nnI highly recommend Quapaw Canoe Company

Ready for some real education? Go on a trip down the lower Mississippi for the experience of a lifetime. John Ruskey ran our shuttle, offered lots of insight, and the company property as a base for our overnight canoe trip down the big river. Highly reccomended .
