Although I enjoyed my time as a student and was pretty successful, earning my JD here has in no way improved my life. In fact, WashU Law has actively worked against me. They allowed a law firm to rescind their offer after a year waiting for a start date in an unfamiliar city. The firm had violated their own contract in multiple ways but WashU offered no assistance or advice for reconsideration - I was left to fend for myself. When I needed course descriptions for a real estate license, my request was ignored. When I needed a recommendation, a professor agreed to do one but the employer told me not to use that reference ever again.nnI made more money before attending law school. I have been desperate to the point of begging people for a job - but no one has given me a chance to do meaningful work. This school is not helping me in any way to find a job and at this point, I think they should hire me to do something for the University. This school has effectively ruined my chances for a successful career.

I'm not sure what Cindy is talking about. It's true that about roughly 25 years ago, the law school here was not as highly recognized as the med school here is. However, times have changed and WashU Law has made a name for itself. Students have landed in a variety of places despite the job market for lawyers significantly crashing during the last decade.nnWithin the past 4 years, graduates of WashU law have had the following jobs upon graduation (these are just some of their accomplishments):n1. A member of the team from the New York office of Latham & Watkins LLP that advised Spotify, the world’s largest global music streaming subscription service, on its groundbreaking direct listing on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).n2. Joined Reed Smith LLP in Philadelphia as an Associate in the Global Commercial Disputes practice group.n3. An associate for BakerHostetler New Yorkn4. The Assistant District Attorney at the Bronx district attorney’s officen5. Joined Greensfelder, Hemker & Gale PC as an associate.n6. Have been named Deputy Solicitor General for the state of Missourin7. The director of government affairs and Anheuser-Busch InBev. Also named to the St. Louis Business Journal’s 30 Under 30 list, which recognizes the next generation of young leaders.

The school is beautiful and one of the best law schools in the country. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time so far and would definitely make the same choice again.

Great school. Nice building. Unfortunately most students will not get a job. Unless you have connections you will not find work.nABA ranks the schools according to academic value. I was told Wash U accepts students ( who have connections ) in order to increase the employment statistic.nStudying Japanese Law and Chinese law will not help you to pass the bar. Most students leave STL upon graduation and the career office is not able to establish an alumni network. Despite of the great ranking this school has hardly any famous current alumni . All the great alumni are in retirement age or beyond.nWash U has hosted several presidential debates. Why? John Danford brought it to STL in 1992 since his brother was the dean at the time. Mo was at this time a swing state and therefore important. The current dean is one of the best paid chancellors in the entire US - with your tuition.nI would go to a CHEAPER school in a region were you can stay, make connections and find a permanent job rather than to study three years in the middle of cornfields.nWash U is a good academic school but in the ivory tower of jurisprudence there are not many paying jobs
