Jefferson Parish Library - North Kenner Library

The library itself is fine from what I can remember from the times I've visited there. However, recently in early August a relative and I were approached by a blatanly rude white employee who told us we couldn't get a book, yet no one told us that they had certain measures, such as having the employee get the book for you, due to COVID. Regardless, he was rude and they need to do better with their staff's behavior. Even though you shouldn't have to, I would ask about certain measures like these so you don't have to have an encounter like that.

Security guard was extremely rude and expected me to put a mask on my 10 month old. He would not let us in without her putting a mask on. If you are going to hire someone to enforce the rules then you need to make sure they know the correct rules/mandates.

I was leaving the library around 5 minutes before they closed last night and a mother who didn’t know much English and her young daughter (probably like 7 or 8 yrs) walked in, they most likely didn’t know they closed at 9 pm. The little girl did most of the talking since her mom didn’t know much English, and she asked twice very politely if she could use a computer. The lady behind the desk was extremely rude with the little girl that obviously didn’t know any better. She could have politely told her “I’m sorry but we’re closing in 5 minutes” but she had a bad attitude instead. I usually don’t leave reviews at all but this made me feel bad for the girl.

Manager and security are incredibly rude.
