Our Lady of the Lake Physician Group Covington

Very disappointed in this group. My husband had an urgent need, called for an appointment with his primary care physician, Dr. Galofaro, and was told he couldn't see him for over a week (apparently they don't keep openings for urgent needs). So instead he went to urgent care. Fast forward a few weeks later, he tried to schedule an appointment with Galofaro for a follow-up; however, he was told Dr. Galofaro was out. They suggested he see Dr. Palmisano instead. He obliged. He arrived for his appointment, signed in, and as he was waiting received a call to cancel his appointment as Dr. Palmisano was out sick. I understand doctors get sick too. But what I cannot understand is the lack of respect for people's time. When the office realized the doctor was going to be out that day, they should immediately reschedule appointments starting with the first appointment; not wait until 5 minutes before the scheduled appointment time to cancel (his appointment was for 10:15, so we're not talking about the first appt of the day here). He had already left work, and was sitting in the waiting room before receiving the call his appt was canceled. And no one thought to tell him at the time of sign-in. To top it off, he asked the person at the desk what his options were - to reschedule or see someone else - and he was met with a blank stare. So how can you trust this group to be your PCP when they fail to offer a solution when you need them the most?!?! Apparently they need to review their staff as they have forgotten what they are there for, which is to serve patients during their time of need. I'm not sure who to recommend instead... still looking for a doctor that a:) is available - either leave openings for urgent needs or accept an additional appointment every now and then when your patient needs one, b:) is respectful of the patient's time - we are all busy. Cancel appts as soon as possible and be cognitive of the time a patient spends in the waiting room as we have schedules and jobs too, and lastly c:) has an empathetic staff - offer a solution; even if it's to see another doctor.
