Great place to stop for gas, rest rooms and a quick bit to eat. You're in Pecan county, and they have some of the best in the area. You can get home made pecan pies, roasted nuts, candy nuts, Etc. ud83dude0b They always have clean restrooms with several stalls.
Had a lovely visit at Merritt about a week ago and my mother absolutely enjoyed herself. She only wanted a bag of pecans and they were the most DELICIOUS pecans we've (ever?) had! We appreciate that they're already partially shelled so it's easy to get the goodness quickly and at $14 they were definitely worth it. We will return for more.
I like taking the back roads while traveling, you run across some interesting family run businesses. Lots of different kinds of pecans made in variety of ways has desserts and pies and homemade treats. Also different candies and sodas you don't often see. Friendly!
Great place for in between road trips. Well sorted and very clean.
This place was more than a store. J was like taking a step back in time. I went in for gas and spent about 45 minutes looking at signs from ago. I enjoyed the pecan trees and the old farm equipment they had on display. The signage took me back to very young childhood.
