Wow this place has changed over the years. We hadn't been in a very long time and were happy to see that not only was it still open, but it's thrived. The market area is a nice way to wait for a table. All the sweets looked and smelled so delicious. Our lunch was great, the chicken salad as good as I remember, and my husband loved his Bologna crunch sandwich. Very pleasant lunch, nice staff and good service. Only disappointment was that the hours on Google were incorrect. We didn't get to sample the breakfast the next day on our way home.

The food and atmosphere was very relaxing It felt like i went to visit friends. Good home cooking and dessert is amazing. I highly recommend. The sweet tea was Really good I'm a true southern girl and we know good home cooking and sweet tea

This Cafe is amazing! Last time we visited it did not have the Market incorporated to it yet, but we loved that concept. When we talk about visiting Clayton we always speak about this Cafe the service is great the manager comes around and checks on you. We love the small town feel this gives us since we visit from Atlanta.

Went for dinner tonight and am confused how there are so many other great reviews. Waitress was friendly but seemed inexperienced? Never came back to refill our waters although another did look out for us and brought us some eventually. Forgot to bring napkins that we asked for. There was a hair on my burger and I wish they’d offered better customer service. Not much empathy or apology but after showing them where the hair was exactly they did take it off of the bill. We still paid for the sides-which is fine. Food all around was just okay. The baked goods next door were delicious however!

Stayed in Clayton on a Thursday night in July and downtown was packed. Thought we were SOL on getting dinner. To our surprise the Cafe was able to seat us. They were following all COVID precautions regarding spacing of tables, cleaning and the staff were all wearing masks. We had a specialty burger and fish which were delicious. The selection of sides was great, and the desserts - YUM. Highly recommended!
