Cateechee - Lake Hartwell

I discovered this hotel while looking for a quiet escape for Valentine’s weekend. Based on the photos and limited reviews I was under the impression that it had a big lake and romantic views. Upon arrival I saw that the reality was different from what I was expecting, since it was already late and we were tired I didn’t say anything to the lady that checked us in.nnThe next morning we came down and talked to Cody about our disappointments, he listened patiently and then searched for possible solutions, we got lucky that Philp canceled a reservation at their nearby Cabin, so Cody transferred us to this beautiful Cabin in the woods which was more than we could ever have wanted to have a magical and peaceful Valentine’s Weekend.nnWe also ordered the Valentine’s Dinner from the restaurant “Waterfall Grille” and it was personally delivered by Cody, the food was excellent. I have to confess that after the initial displeasure I saw no possibility for me to give 5 stars to this place, but Cody went above and beyond to make this a complete turn around and we finished our trip to North Georgia on a very happy note…nnAfter departing we had “Cabin withdrawal” for the next 2 days!

Cateechee has always been in great shape anytime of year we have played there. Very helpful and friendly staff. They have a very nice driving range and practice area. It's a must play if you are in the area or worth a planned trip to play. You will enjoy I'm sure.

I recently got married at Cateechee, and there aren’t enough words to describe what an absolute dream it was!! The facilities are absolutely gorgeous and the staff is amazing! I loved that Cateechee provided stylish tables, chairs, and linens for the wedding, and that we were able to utilize the indoor ballroom and outdoor veranda - it made for an absolutely beautiful wedding and a view of the sunset that evening. Liz, the event coordinator, was incredibly helpful, and made sure that everything ran as smoothly as possible! She worked amazingly well with all our vendors, provided a floorplan layout catered to our wedding and personal preferences, set up the projector for my maid of honor to play a video she made, and answered all of my MANY questions. Not to mention, she handled all of this during the middle of pandemic, and she made sure that I knew all our options and was willing to give suggestions on how to best handle everything in lieu of recent events. Liz was so friendly and helpful, and I couldn’t have had my wedding without her!nIn addition to Cateechee’s fantastic event planning services, we also worked with their lodging and catering staff. Cody with lodging was also so helpful, and he gave us a tour of all the lodging options so we could make our decision on where everyone would stay the night before the wedding. We decided on staying in the suites for the wedding weekend, and it was wonderful! The rooms were very clean and spacious, and we loved the breakfast platter that was brought to us in the morning, along with the coffee station and wet bar in the common area. It was so nice that there was a cozy common area between all the suites that was closed off from the rest of the building, because we were able to use this space for all the girls to get ready together, and it was perfect! Also, they have an amazing cancellation policy for anyone that wants to reserve their lodging spaces for weddings.nLastly, catering from Cateechee’s Waterfall Grill was, of course, amazing. They have so many options, from plated meals to buffets, passed hors d’oeuvres to filet mignon, and even the option of specialty stations - anything you could possibly want! We chose to have a few passed hors d’oeuvres for the cocktail hour, and for dinner, we had a plated meal that came with the entrée, a salad, vegetables of choices, starch of choice, yeast rolls, and drinks. The crab cakes and shrimp cocktails were an absolute hit, and all the food was so flavorful! The wait staff was very friendly and kept a constant flow of food coming for our guests. Cateechee was also kind enough to provide the bride and groom to-go plates, which we appreciated so much after the busy day! We also chose to have a cash bar, and it was a huge hit - everything was fantastic!nI could go on and on about how great Cateechee was, and I wouldn’t have wanted to have our wedding be anywhere else! They really thought of everything, and they made everything so streamlined and easy for us in our planning. It was so nice that we were able to plan so much through Cateechee - since it was our venue, as well as our lodging, catering, and bar services, and they provided tables, chairs, linens, and, and all the items necessary for dining. Cateechee was, by far, our best investment for the wedding, and they are an absolute steal when considering everything you get for the price. I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful venue, a kinder staff, and a more perfect wedding day! We are so grateful for Cateechee and their staff, and we are already looking forward to visiting again soon.
