A group of ladies stayed at River Daze the first weekend of October 2020. The shower liner in the upstairs bathroom had mildew on it. There were cobwebs in the windows inside and out. The living room rug was covered in white dog hair. And they tried to say we left some stray trash outside a sealed bag three days after we checked out and therefore charged us a $75 fee. We were willing to overlook the house cleaning deficiencies because we just wanted to enjoy our weekend. But charging us for something we didn’t do is unacceptable. We’ve made several attempts to correspond with Mountain Resort Cabin Rentals, but no response. We won’t stay at River Daze again.nnUpdate: After several of us posted reviews on social media, the owners decided to refund the $75.

I recently stayed at one of the cabins. It was a beautiful cabin! We had a lovely time. When we arrived, the hot tub was off, so we had to wait quite a while for it to heat up—but that was the only issue. Two weeks after we departed, I was charged for damages and a hot tub cleaning -$95. The owner stated there was a broken blind and that the hot tub was turned off and extra dirty-and cited a section of the rental agreement that states not to add anything to the hot tub (soap, drinks, etc). I was charged for the damages and extra hot tub clean without any proof. We did NOT break a blind, we cleaned and looked over the cabin before we left and nothing was damaged. The hot tub was off when we arrived so that’s why we turned it off, AND we only used the hot tub TWICE, and certainly didn’t add anything to it. This also happened two weeks after we checked out which seems unprofessional. When I contacted them it took them 3 days to respond only stating “we sent the pictures to your personal email address.” I’ve searched—no pictures were ever sent. I also don’t trust the validity of this experience if we weren’t notified directly the same day that the housekeeper had these issues. I’m extremely disappointed with the treatment I’ve received. My name is Stephanie Wolodkin and booked with VRBO, before the owners comment and say no one by this name has stayed in their cabins.nnUPDATE: The owners ended up refunding for the broken blind saying “once we circled back to the cabin we realized we could fix the blind without replacing”. So basically they would’ve charged me for damages if I wouldn’t have said anything. Mind you this is still weeks after we left without ever sending pictures. They finally sent pictures of this supposed “extra dirty” hot tub with a picture of the breaker being turned off. The water looked cloudy at best. And I stated for the umpteenth time that the damn hot tub breaker was OFF WHEN WE ARRIVED. So basically it stopped filtering and they charged us for it. This is a sketchy business at best. Look elsewhere to rent.

We stayed at River Daze cabin. This was a weekend get away for me and work friends before the busy holiday season. We got there and there were cob webs in the windows, dog hair on the rug, mildew in the shower, the furniture is old and worn out, the fireplace didn't work, the cans outside had the previous tenants trash in it, the bath linens were in the dryer not the bathrooms but we overlooked all this and enjoyed our weekend. Imagine two weeks later getting a $75 charge for some trash found in the can outside that wasn't ours. We followed all their checkout rules, left it cleaner than we found it and they aren't responding to our emails. We talked about returning but we'll look elsewhere for a more reputable owner next time.

We rented a cabin for a week. It had everything we needed, it was clean and beautiful and we enjoyed our stay. Beds were comfortable we will definitely be back!

We absolutely love Bear Traxx cabin!!nIt was so clean and our family had a wonderful time..nThe game room is awesome!! Kitchen was well stocked ... We saw lots of deer.. We will definitely book this cabin again, by far the best cabin we have ever rented.. Thank you Valarie and staff for making our stay memorable..
