Customer service is awful, assuming you're even able to reach a human on the phone.nnUpdate: After 45 minutes on hold, I was finally able to speak with a human who was knowledgeable and delightful. I am leaving it at 1 star, however, due to the hold time and past experiences. But it's good to know that they do have at least 1 competent employee!
I suddenly lost water at my house at 8:30 at night, so I called Dekalb Watershed to find out what was going on. The man that answered the phone said that there was some sort of “emergency.” He refused to tell me what exactly was going on or how long the water would be out. I understand that things can happen, but not providing any details or an approximate time of restoration for something as critical as water to your house is absolutely unacceptable.
The absolute worst!!!!!!!nGetting someone on the phone is always a 30 minute wait, setting a new account is a nightmare, and good luck trying to get a refund back. They request outrageous and irrational documentation and have you jump through hoops, all in order NOT to send you back your refund.nThey found an easy way to make a buck - not send back refund. Despicable.
Why does this company make paying your water bill so inconvenient? It's as if they intend not to be user friendly. For one, they actually prefer you don't pay it online, and if you have the audacity to do so, they actually charge you $4 just to be able to do it. They do not store your banking information, making you have to put in your card information each time. Typical government operation where they are only thinking about themselves.
I called into DeKalb Watershed Management due to a concern regarding sewer back potentially backing up into my home from Snapfinger Creek. I spoke with Ms. Sandra, who was extremely polite and professional. She listened to my concerns and even called me back to provide and update on my ticket. Within the same business day workers showed up to my home to assess the situation. The technicians were polite and took the time to explain what was going on in laymen terms. Thank you!
