Acquanette Chatman: Allstate Insurance

My first year of motorcycle coverage was pretty pleasant with this agency, but after recent interactions, I will no longer use Allstate for my coverage.nnI’ve been a customer of this agency for almost a year and a half. About 4 months ago I decided I was going to start looking for a used car to purchase and had hoped to bundle it with Allstate. When I called requesting information about how I would purchase an auto policy and bundle it with my motorcycle policy, Ms. Acquanette said it would easy and to call them when I had purchased my car. She never mentioned that it could cost hundreds of dollars extra to add a new vehicle because I didn’t have auto insurance with them for a 6-month period despite me asking if there was anything additional I should know about.nnThe day I purchased my car I asked Allstate to give me a quote and they said it would be $400+ per month because my motorcycle wouldn’t qualify as a vehicle - therefore there would be a penalty for the first 6 months. I spoke to 2 separate people about this and they promised they would call me back to confirm this amount. A full day goes by and I did not receive a call from either person.nnWith that being said, I received quotes from two other companies. Both gave me a quote that was less than $200/month and called me back in a timely manner. I went with Geico and they approved me within 30 minutes.nnWhen my Allstate policy ends, I will switch my motorcycle policy over to Geico as well.

Excellent service from the Chatman agency that resulted in me transferring both my Home and Auto to a single insurance company for the first time. Very good with spending time and discussing options to tailor the coverage to our needs. Policy review with renewal was very good as well. Good job in also touching base regarding other possible short and long term insurance and financial services we may need and options on how they can be of assistance.

Great service but so crushed by the industry that does not help cover with ground water damages from a county declared flood. Yet again we pay thousands for coverage and the fine print finds us without support.nAll too often we have the industry write off a disaster with only the cost to their profits for that of a stamp..

This is the WORST insurance agency I have had the displeasure of dealing with.nnI have to call to follow up on everything. The agents are rude and totally uninformed. Agents claim to be licensed, but can't answer a simple question.nnTrash service.nnUpdate: Just spoke to the Agency owner, Acquanette Chapman, and she is proof that the fish stinks from the head.nnDismissive, interrupting me, chewing and sucking her teeth in the phone. Definitely setting the tone for incompetency.
