(March 2021 update: WOW! is this mall growing and improving. I added 1 star ⭐ufe0f) Well, I really wanted to like Volusia Mall. Over my 45+ years of living in the North Central Florida area I’ve seen the ups and downs of the retail market reflected in the success and decline of this mall. My impression from the street is that it is currently on the way up, and it certainly looks less like a ghost town than it has in the last many years, but once inside and after going into a few stores I began to reassess. For example, I usually enjoy JCP, but on this visit the merchandise was a jumble and not aesthetically appealing at all.nI fully expect the Volusia Mall to continue to grow and evolve, but it still has a way to go.

Fantastic staff and amazing manager, Julia. I had to retrieve an itemized receipt for the meal I had there a month ago so my company could reimburse me; Julia went above and beyond to help! Thank you

Unfortunately, quite a few stores have closed and the mall isn’t what it used to be.nnAnchor stores have dropped down to only JCPenney, Books A Million, three separate Dillard’s, and a Macy’s which is currently having its final clearance sale as they are closing.nnProbably the most frequented stores I see are: Vans, Maui Nix, FYE, Hot Topic, Spencer’s, Victoria’s Secret, and Journeys.nnFood court has also greatly diminished, now containing three similar Asian-American food styles restaurants, a hot dog’s and more restaurant, and off to the side is Mr. Dunderbak’s (German-American food).nnLoad of vending machines throughout the mall, assuming to take the place of where a kiosk business would typically be located. Also, pricing on said machines has recently increased.

I wish this mall has more tenants that are more upscale and interesting. But it looks like this mall has lost a lot of their valuable tenants such as sears and Abercrombie & Fitch. They used to be way better just 5-6 years ago. Hopefully the management can find some new ideas to make this mall interesting and profitable again. Sad to see these tenants had left as now we have to drive to Orlando to find these stores.

Really enjoying walking to and from and of course, inside this mall. There are plenty of shops to look at and browse including JCPenney, Macy's (closing soon), GameStop, a couple of T-Mobile locations, a food court and more. Plenty of parking available surrounding the entire mall. It's always a great place for cardio. Lately I've seen more and more shops close though due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
